How to Keep Your Hands on the Keyboard
- Left-hand fingers rest on A, S, D, and F.
- Right-hand fingers rest on J, K, L, and ;.
- Thumbs rest lightly on the Space bar.
- Keep your wrists straight and relaxed.
Did you understand the hand placement on the keyboard? Yes! I believe you understood it. Now follow this important rule: Do not look at the keyboard while typing.
Stages in Level 1
- Stage 1: F, D, S, A, J, K, L, ;, G, H
- Stage 2: E, I
- Stage 3: R, U

Home Row (Middle Row):

Top Row:

Stage-wise Typing Practice
Stage 1 – Home Row Keys
In this stage, practice typing only the Home Row keys.
Practice Keys:
F, D, S, A, J, K, L, ;, G, H
This practice helps your fingers get used to the Home Row.
Stage 2 – Top Row (E, I) + Home Row
In this stage, practice typing the letters E and I from the Top Row. At the same time, continue practicing the Home Row keys. This helps your fingers move smoothly and confidently.
Stage 3 – Top Row (R, U) + Home Row
In this stage, practice typing the letters R and U from the Top Row. Continue practicing the Home Row keys as well. Keep practicing until you feel comfortable and confident then go to Dance Mat Typing Level 2
